Caesarea - Herod the Great

Updated: Mar 9, 2021

Video series about Caesarea, the beautiful port city built by King Herod the great on the Mediterranean Sea.

In this episode we will talk about King Herod the Great, who ruled over Judea under the Romans. He was a master builder, a very strong king and was responsible for most of the Archeology we find from Roman times.

He is the king who built Caesarea, Massada, the second Temple in Jerusalem and many more sites that we visit when we tour Israel.

He is also the king who ordered to kill all the babies under 2 years old in Bethlehm when he heard that the Messiahs was born.

"When Herod saw that he had been tricked by the wise men,[a] he was infuriated, and he sent and killed all the children in and around Bethlehem who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had learned from the wise men" (Matthew 2: 16)

Lots to show about this amazing city on the Mediterranean Sea !
